A bad solder joint that loses contact and then when it gets jiggled a bit, it comes back. After what I found this morning, I very much suspect something like that. I took mine apart and sure enough, re-soldering that fixed the problem. I googled the problem and some folks were talking about some bad solder joints on the multi-pin connector on the board of the cluster. I had a problem a while back - don't even remember what it was but something blinking or similar on the instr cluster. Also found that my right thumb between the right most top edge of the steering column and the cluster was what was really having the effect. Did it several times and each time I could make it act right by pushing up and then when I let off pressure, the problem would come back. It made the instrument cluster "recover" and then when I let go (stopped pushing up) the problem came right back. While it was acting up I stuck my thumbs under the gauge cluster - between the top of the steering column and the "dash" just above it - and lifted with my thumbs. I did an experiment on mine this morning. If yours is doing the same thing, from the same cause as mine, it's not ground straps under the hood and such. Im just simply lost and cannot figure it out Battery AND Alternator checked out just fine.Checked most plugs for the wire harness outside the truck all looks good no corrosion. ![]() Check the ground under the fuse box cover, ground strap on driver side firewall and by drivers headlight, also the one behind the bumper below the headlight driver side.Loss of functions as in, no more bright light on dash(for headlights the blue light), the park indicator only works while key in turned to on position but not when its started, no cruise control, no overdrive, cant take it out of 4wd the push buttons wont light up and does nothing, both heated seats wont work, and blower motor or rear defrost does nothing at all as well. ![]() Gauges that DON'T WORK! are, trans temp, fuel gauge, and engine temp. ![]() Ever since this light came on I then lost a bunch of functions an gauges. I went out to leave a couple hours later and noticed the battery light was on but was still charging on the gauge. I recently got 02 LB7, runs perfect still does!.
